As Saturday wore on, tired travellers came through the door of Manresa House, relieved that another stage of the journey had been completed. It was great to see each other again after the experiments. It wasn’t long until we started swapping stories. Everyone was eager to find out how the others had gotten on. What was the work like? How did you get on with the community?
Each placement brought its own challenges and rewards. At times it was tough going, physically, emotionally and spiritually. There were also the days when everything seemed to fall into place. Everyone is grateful for the experience of “tasting and seeing” what Jesuit life is like in the real world. As the saying goes “nobody joins the Jesuits to be a novice”.
